Anna Teichroeb (18882-?) and her husband Gerhard Giesbrecht (1885-1933) with their children Agatha (1913-?), Maria (1915-?), Peter (1917-?), Anna (1919-?) and Margaretha (1922-?). Anna was a daughter of Peter Teichroeb (1857-1944) and Agatha Dueck (1859-1922). Anna and Gerhard owned the flour mill in the Mennonite settlement of Fuerstenland. In the aftermath of the Russian revolution, they lost the mill but were allowed to remain there as workers in the mill. Dan Teichroeb (1904-2005), the brother of Anna, would send care packages from Canada until word was received that Anna and Gerhard were dead. In fact, Gerhard died in 1933 leaving Anna widowed. In 1943 Anna was swept up in the German retreat from occupied territories in eastern Ukraine during which hundreds of thousands of German-speaking inhabitants were relocated. Anna was placed in Leszno, Poland. There is no information about her life after the war.
